♦N a m e : Huo Jian Yu (火建雨) - (roughly translates to rain of fire.)

♦N a t i o n a l i t y : Republic City

♦A f f i n i t y : Fire

♦H e i g h t : 182cm (6' )

♦W e i g h t : 84kg (185lbs)

♦P e r s o n a l i t y :

Quiet - Yu won't speak up usually unless spoken to, or unless he becomes familiar with you or knows you.
Easily angered - Will not waste time on things he deems to be pointless. He gets haughty over things that try his patience. (he has none.) He'll usually firebend in his rages.
Protective - If he accepts you as someone he cares about (i.e. his mother e 7 e;; ) he is fiercely loyal and will defend you at all costs.
Passive - He's not at all judgmental. However, if you want him to notice you, you have to do something to catch his attention, otherwise he'll forget you..and your name.
OCD - Can't stand messes or anything to be out of order. He will promptly fix it without a word. Or do his best to put things right without anyone noticing.
Confident - overconfident. He thinks he knows what he is doing, and that he's always right. Although this can be a serious weakness at times.

♦S k i l l s :
Firebending - Yu was born a fire bender, as were his other siblings. he uses it in every day life, part of his work, although he rages a lot with it.

Shogi - Yu enjoys shogi and is quite good at it. It's his favorite among board games. It helps to relax and calm his almost constantly angry spirit.

Cooking - Taught by his mother, Yu is quite the strong cook. Although it isn't a skill he'd proudly admit to, if put in a situation where he must cook- he is usually praised by those who eat his food.


♦RP S a m p l e :
It had been a long day. Jian Yu ran a hand through his hair, letting out a sigh, indicating his exhaustion. He let himself into his home. It was a small hole in the wall type building in a less than great district of Republic City. There his mother was waiting on him, a large grin on her face as she sat at the kitchen table. "ahh-! Jian Yu, you're home." He gave her a gruff smile back. The one that only his mother ever saw. "..how was work? here, sit-" She motioned at the chair across from her. There was a tea kettle sitting on the kitchen table. Suddenly, mothers hand sparked flames on the pot, warming the tea inside. She picked it up by the handle with a towel, and poured a cup, passing it across the table to her son. "....thanks, mom." His voice came out quiet. But he closed his eyes, sipping on the tea. He couldn't possibly tell her 'how work was' today.

♦H i s t o r y :
Jian Yu was born into a middle class family. His mother was a stay at home mother, since she had acquired an injury during fire bending training in her early 20's. This made walking hard on her. His father worked hard at the energy plant to support his wife, Yu, and his younger sister Li Bei. When Yu was only 12 years old, there was an accident at the power plant, and his father was crushed beneath a large pillar that had collapsed, taking his life. With his mother unable to work, Yu took up duties as 'man of the house'...however, he had to do some unsavory things to bring in money, as finding work as a 12 year old child was hard. After some stealing and doing errand boy work wasn't enough, Yu got taken in by one of the warring triads, and has been a gang member in their ranks since the age of 13. Growing up fast like this has hardened Yu into what he is now. Unfortunately his isn't as in tune with his emotions as one should be, as he has to turn them off quite often for 'work', Not to mention fighting. Yu will always take a round about way home, a different one every day, because he is paranoid of being followed by someone who dislikes him. He doesn't want to let anyone know of his mother and sister in his line of work.

♦ He goes by "yu". Makes things more simple~
♦ He loves to play games that calm him down. Board games that require concentration, like Shogi. likeoldpeople*kicked*
♦ When he loses his temper, he will instantly fire bend, though he might not direct it at anyone.
♦ Other than his sister, He has no idea how to treat girls.
♦ He has a VERY doting mother. As family activities, mother often teaches him and Li Bei how to cook. Yu seems to have a knack for it.
♦ If he can get the money, he'd like to open a restaurant and have a legitimate family business.
♦ He's always wrapped in bandages because he's likely hurt somewhere and doesn't want his family to see.
