Arisa is a calm, cool and collected person...on the surface. For a few years now, she has researched by watching dramas, reading manga and magazines, and people watching on the behaviors of a girly-girl, and the qualities that people find most attractive. She’s done her best to adapt these behaviors, but she isn't exactly the best actress. She smiles, laughs, acts polite, all in a calm sort of ice-queen way, instead of coming off as a warm and bubbly girl. These interactions can get a bit awkward, so generally she just stays quiet unless spoken to. However, growing up in a Yakuza household still has a firm hold on her underlying personality, no matter how much she tries to cover it up. Whenever she is threatened, annoyed, near her family, or gets any of her buttons pressed, she becomes loud and intimidating. She has no qualms about who it is she’s dealing with, she’ll threaten to hurt them or worse, and all of the careful work that she does to make herself more lady-like goes out the window as she turns into a crass ane-san with attitude for days.

Eye Ability: Eye of the beholder

When someone makes eye contact with her, She appears to be who ever their subconscious wants her to be, including those who are deceased.  This makes for some very confusing and or awkward conversations and situations. Arisa will have no control over who this affects or when it happens. In fact She won't be immediately aware of the ability itself, so when instances DO occur, she will become really confused by the person she’s dealing with, and will get angry with them, and her bad Yakuza attitude will surface.

At level 1, this ability activates randomly within a heat-haze zone. The likelihood of it happening increases if she or  the person she's speaking to has a strong desire to do something of any kind (i.e. if someone has the urge to speak to their loved one, desires eating/has a craving, or is super focused on obtaining a high test score, ect. Her ability activates near the presence of extreme desire for anything.) . The duration of the effect varies, but it never lasts any longer than 5 minutes. Afterwards, Arisa is left with an annoying headache. 

History:

Arisa was born into a Yakuza family, and never once stood the chance of breaking free from it, as her father is the head of the Kirijou clan. She never really had a major female influence in her life, because in the main house, the only females that resided there were her and her mother. Being in the main household branch, Arisa grew up surrounded by many vulgar and fearsome men, although none of them ever showed her disrespect, they weren’t exactly model examples of proper men. She attended school normally of course, but because of her crass and violent behavior, she was always branded as a ‘sketchy girl’, or a ‘Yakuza girl’. Of course the rumors were never confirmed, but everyone around her knew it to be true. Because of this, she was never able to keep friends in school. The only friend she ever had was a boy her age, Kurosaki Ryousuke, who was the son of a high ranking clan member who also lived in the main house.

When Arisa became middle school age, she lashed out and staged her rebellion. She moved up quickly in the ranks, and would eventually become the leader of a widely known middle school yankee gang. Since she had been denied the delicacy of being treated like a proper lady, she decided she would follow in her fathers footsteps. Arisa did terrible things to people, stole, trashed, curbstomped, you name it. Ryousuke supported her endeavors, as he had moved his way up the social ladder in one of the towns biker gangs. Together the two were a force to be reckoned with, and with the combined strength of both gangs, almost no cared to pick a fight with them.

Arisa was about thirteen years old when she realized that she started to have feelings for Ryousuke. She wanted him to notice her as a girl, but she wasn’t sure how to make him see her that way. Since they had grown up together, and he had never seen her in a delicate light, she was sure that her feelings weren’t mutual. In secret, she started to read magazines like ViVi, and inStyle, to try and make herself more effeminate and approachable. However if Arisa tried to act like a girl in front of Ryousuke, he’d only laugh and make fun of her, not understanding what she was doing. At 16, Arisa’s resolve had grown stronger, and she felt the only way to prove herself as a girl was to get as far away from the gang-life as she could. However, stepping down from her position came at a price. She was severely beaten and hospitalized for 6 months. Because of her insubordination, Ryousuke was punished by his gang as well- it was guilt by association. Unfortunately, Ryousuke never left the hospital alive.  He had sustained injuries that could never fully heal, and both lungs collapsed and had been punctured. While in the hospital, he expressed his regrets to Arisa, how he wished that they could have changed, and that even though he had made fun of her, he thought that she was really brave to change herself. He believed in her, and told her that if anyone had the strength to change, it was her. Ryousuke was kept alive by machines, but eventually he fell into an irreversible coma. His family decided to not to let him suffer anymore and let him go.

It took months for Arisa to get back to being somewhat normal. At first she was angry, lashing out at all around her, and seeing Ryousuke’s face in everyone who approached her. There was nothing she could do, she had relinquished her power, and had no backing to punish those responsible. Her mother stepped in and had her change high schools, and after time had passed and her previous reputation had dissipated, she was finally able to see what she had become. She decided that changing herself and moving forward was the best thing she could do, in memory of Ryousuke. She knew that he would want the best for her. She became a more adjusted student, and even applied and was accepted to college. While she can’t escape her family, Arisa is doing her best as an art student, trying to make friends, and becoming a better person for her sake and Ryousuke’s.

Trivia:

- Arisa dyes her hair as a form of artistic expression. She feels that Blonde and pink are girly colours, and that they’ll help her come closer to her feminine goal.

- While she studies hard at ‘being a girl’ she’s not entirely good at it. Especially when it comes to dressing herself. She tends to mix fashions that don’t belong together, and doesn’t realize if it looks bad.

- Ironically, she’s aiming to be a fashion student in the art department.

- The bullet on the necklace she wears came from Ryousuke’s gun. It has his name carved on the back of it. So she’ll never forget his sacrifice.

- Her eye ability reflects her need to be seen as someone important to the other person. As she was seeking to be important to Ryousuke. The fact is, she was important to him, only she never knew it.

- Since starting college, she’s been going by ‘Risa’ instead of Arisa, because she thinks it’s cuter.
